march 27th blog
Well the webquest and scavenger hunt exposure seemed to lead me to webquest as a usable tool for the classroom in the future. I like the idea of higher cognitive thinking through synthesis of content from a webquest. I have thought a lot about just what form of higher cognitive thinking might occur with reviewing and selecting loops to use for original music in a loop based audio editing system. As mentioned in the other part of the assignment this is common for students to drive on their own in doing the work. Sure the criteria is self defined, but in the end I wonder is it not higher order thinking when you have to review so many selections on the internet and do rationalizing of your choices for current and future uses. It is more of a non tangible unwritten product at the end but it is undeniable the search yields content for actual work through analysis. The focus of the 6 step plan mentioned really guides and follows the traditional method instead of one a self guided webquest would. I believe this would be great for students researching film databases and selecting and making choices about quality and then reviewing taking their own findings and generating conclusions based on assignments with different projects and genres. The lesson plan portion of this week was something we have been drilled with because of CTE and that I was very familiar with. The Topic, Instructional Strategies, Daily Activities,Resources / materials and supplies, References to Textbooks and curriculum guides, state standards, connections, student hooks, evaluations, personal assessment, empowerment portions of the lesson, me,we,you, KWL and all the other facets have been incorporated in my lesson plans for a few years now. In fact the SDP lesson plans we are now required to do to meet their"standards" are less detailed and complete than my previous ones. The type of lesson plan makes it easy for all to see what and how you are doing it.

03202012 Website, homework mooser post
Apps were interesting like Timeline for generating timelines and generating puzzles for class with Puzzlemaker. I will discuss these because in the simplest context the puzzles would help us cover 1500 vocabulary words for our NOCTI certification training for students. The bubbl.us app looks like a tool for engaging students in the process of brainstorming and giving them a new look at the process through interactive graphic organizers. Marry it with a smart board and they would probably be fighting over it. The overview which is the real crux for me for the week is conceiving of aligning the "right" apps for ease of use and enhancement out of all the great numbers of them. That is where the work lies, but once done I see some good chances to setup some good work tools for script and character lines and traits, crews and assignments. These two will be the first I will look at to actually discuss integrating into the program. The web site turned out like a speck of a starting point for something I would like to have some fun with online. The interaction and sharing is the whole point of that.

Tried to correct title for 2/28 when it was done made a mistake on 3-12
Blog for for 2/28/2012 Mooser Well looking at web design and elements for what makes a good web page is always time well spent especially taking the time to just look around and see how designs and trends change. Looking at clean, colorful, inviting, easily intuitive web access that makes the point of going to the website comfortable can never be overlooked. You must be comfortable and feel at ease to be able to access whatever anyone has to offer. I always enjoy a page like the Franklin Institute which follows a lot of their branding they use internally through out exhibits and the building. The first web 2.0 app I reviewed was direct and informative but drastically short of our stated goal of 15-20 minutes. I don't know if part of it is missing or not. At 3 minutes he had a great selection and a lot of opportunity to do more time with it but even though content was very direct and informative and basically told me most everything I need to know the time aspect could have been overcome easily. Just look more at past and present, similar software, spelling reinforcement statistics through e games and all sorts of other boundary issues with Everglades spelling and I am sure he could have done more time. I know multimedia can be overwhelming for some when they first go into it. Overall the web is the world and that is never going to change only become more of a bigger part of all of our lives. I am thinking about including some video like playing a quick time piece during a web Jing session, will start to play with it this week.
week 7 2/28/2012 posting on 3/12/2012
This week and the past two have been ridiculously hard to get things done because of illness and my back out for 2 weeks. The presentation by Ana Cabani was a nice job for the class and I enjoyed it. The web site work I guess I misread I thought it was due later in the month but it is all good topics as all the facets because of the usability for teachers and students. I wish there was an interactive aspect to the online classes for work but it still works out alright, I am going back into the web page assignment and review again to finish it since now I can sit up not in pain. I am glad my back finally went in so I can focus on the work again it is still sore but much better. I will not forget this last section of work I am glad we were off the second week my back was out, school has been hard enough. I am looking forward to the webpages, web 2.0 and other assignments in the remaining time.
