Week Two  January 30, 2012     Mooser ED5254 Blog

1. What I learn this week?
I think this week I learned again how much people who are the in the database like to interact with the database and see it and push it around.  Whether it was paper graphs in elementary school or interactive data in it's many forms you can see all the way up at any age, people, if they are in the data they want to see the data.  I learned to always be looking for the models which lead to a more interactive offering for a learner.  Data being seen and analyzed is one way out. The flip side is more interaction evolving outward and inward. Eventually to become part of the data again in it's effect on the students.  That they will pore over again and again.

2. How might I use this in the future?
I mentioned in my replies that some of this could be routed through an interactive self driven NOCTI vocabulary database for self testing and evaluation eventually.  I think that would be interesting and a great application of interactive data picking. I think the main thing would be as I was mentioning in the other blogs are to start with some teen service needs of blogging ( Social based database such as what music everyone likes or movies everyone likes) and then open up the aspect to play the vocabulary like a game against each other for who gets the highest score.  Who is the smartest?

moosered5254blog week one

1. What did I learn?
I learned more about the push of the Horizon report in tech through classroom delivery methods is an anticipated facet as we all have wanted but the timeline for approaching integration is refreshing to say the least.  As we grow to offer diverse learning situations for the individual we also have to develop ways of producing plethoraes of media rich avenues for engagement which is ultimately the real challenge for one to generate 24-27 media rich streams which are all personalized or at least directing towards desired interest and content availability.

2. How can I use this information in the future?
Primarily it becomes opportunities on different platforms that is needed with ample technology in place to really usher in all the possibility and positive growth which is possible stated here just in this first week’s content.  More working access points for students for hands on and established accounts in a working cloud will really give ownership to our students as this rolls out through education in time.  I think the engagement factor of technology with youth and correctly generated apps and other engagement tools will only serve to increase success rates when looked at in the final assessment, I look forward to this course to learn more and the implementation of more efficient tech.
